Overview:
This beginner’s photography workshop is a practical and fun workshop designed to develop your confidence and skill levels in photography.
The workshop is tailor-made for beginners as you will receive tutorials on the technical aspects of photography. In addition, you will be issued with comprehensive notes on all aspects of the workshop to be able to take home. Furthermore, you will have plenty of opportunity to practise what you have learnt in order to consolidate your learning.
During the beginner’s photography workshop, you will receive expert guidance on how to use your camera settings in order to take more effective shots. Therefore, the workshop is primarily aimed at developing control and understanding in the use of DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
The class will be led by Sharon Brookes who is a practising artist and fully qualified art teacher with nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching. Please note that the photography workshop attendees are limited to 8 people to ensure that everyone can receive the help and support that they require.
During the photography workshop, we will explore:
- The technical aspects of photography such as how and when to adjust the aperture and shutter speeds.
- How to take more proficient shots by exploring better composition and viewpoints.
- Exploring different lighting effects in order to create atmosphere and drama.
- How to work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Developing artistic effects by exploring backgrounds and props.
What’s included:
- Tutorials and practical sessions on digital photography.
- Comprehensive workshop notes and guidance.
- Props and sets to work with.
- Tea/coffee.
What you will need to bring:
- Your DSLR or mirrorless camera.
- Any camera lenses that you may have.
- Your camera instruction manual.
- A tripod, if you have one. If not, one will be provided, if required.
- Sturdy footwear and suitable clothing for working outside.
Access:
Please note that this workshop uses both our ground floor and first floor studios. Furthermore, the bathroom facilities are also located on the first floor. During the workshop, there will be some walking over uneven ground. Large print scripts can be provided by prior arrangement, if required.
