Overview
During the expressive florals course, we will cover:
- Firstly, how to draw accurate imagery by understanding the rules, such as how to draw ellipses.
- Next, how to create sucessful washes and layers using watercolour to achieve effects like glass with reflections.
- Then, we will cover how to paint flowers in detail to achieve form and depth.
- Lastly, you will have the opportunity to work using a variety of different techniques in order to fully understand and experiment with drawing and painting techniques.

An example itinerary for the expressive florals course:

| Sat | We will meet at the studio for 10:30am for welcome refreshments and introductions. Following, the course tutor will then demonstrate lots of watercolour technique to practice and experiment with. This will be a relaxed and fun start to the course. Then, there will be a step-by-step tutorial in how to draw a still life composition. This will include all of the fundamentals in order to develop confidence and understanding. Lastly, the course tutor will demonstrate how to apply different watercolour techniques in order to complete your first expressive floral painting. This will be an opportunity to practice with techniques learnt earlier in the day. The session will conclude at 3:30pm |
| Sun | We will meet at the studio for 10:30am refreshments. Following, day two of the course will focus on developing your practice. You will have the opportunity to follow a second step-by-step guided session where you will be able to further practice your techniques. This will be an opportunity to develop further techniques such as pen and wash as well as using watercolour powders. By the end of the course, you will have successfully achieved at least two expressive floral paintings using a variety of different techniques. The session will conclude at 3:30pm |
