Portrait Drawing Course – Event Details

Overview:

On this course, you will learn how to develop your drawing ability and create sucessful portrait drawings. Furthermore, you will extend your knowledge of portraiture to be able to draw confidentially and accurately in a range of mediums.

Due to the guided practice and practical demonstrations offered throughout the course, it is suitable for all ability levels. Please note that attendees are limited to 8 people to ensure that everyone can receive the help and support that they require.

The course will be led by Sharon Brookes who is a practising artist and fully qualified art teacher with nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching art.

The Course Timings:

• The weekend course runs from Saturday-Sunday, 10:30am to 3:30pm on each day and offers a comprehensive programme in portrait drawing.

During the portrait drawing course, we will explore:

• Firstly, you will be fully guided in how to divide the face to achieve accurate proportions.
• You will then receive step-by-step practical demonstrations on how to draw all facial features including the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and hair.
• Furthermore, you will also learn how to draw using a range of mediums including graphite and charcoal.
• Lastly, you will learn how to use shading techniques in order to successfully create form.
• By the end of the portrait drawing course, you will aim to achieve a range of sucessful portrait drawings which you can then proudly take home.
