Autumn Nature Journalling Retreat – Event Details

Overview:

During this Autumn retreat, you will be expertly guided through all aspects of creative nature journalling. In addition, you will have the opportunity to undertake an Autumnal nature walk within the surrounding area of outstanding natural beauty.

Due to the guided practice and practical demonstrations offered throughout the retreat, it is suitable for all ability levels. Please note that attendees are limited to 8 people to ensure that everyone can receive the help and support that they require.

The retreat will be led by Sharon Brookes who is a practising artist and fully qualified art teacher with nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching.

The Autumn Nature Journalling Retreat Options:

• The Saturday Introductory Experience runs from 10:30-3:30pm and covers the basics of nature journalling plus an opportunity to undertake a nature walk.
• The full weekend course runs from Saturday-Sunday, 10:30am to 3:30pm on each day and offers a more comprehensive programme of creative activity.
• The full weekend retreat runs from Friday at 12pm through to Sunday at 2:30pm and offers a comprehensive programme plus includes evening meals, social activities and luxury hotel accommodation.

During the Autumn Nature Journalling Retreat, we will:

• Undertake a relaxing and gentle 3-mile nature walk where you will record your observations and gather inspiration for your nature journal.
• Take part in art and craft workshops to explore creative approaches to nature journalling. For example, you will create journal pages using drawing, collage and printmaking techniques.
• By the end of the retreat, you will have started your own personal and creative nature journal. It is hoped that, by attending the retreat, you will foster a love for nature journalling and continue to develop your nature journal.

• Suitable footwear and clothing for a 3-mile nature walk over open countryside.
• A camera or camera phone for the nature walk.

Access:

We can arrange large-print scripts, if required. Please let us know on booking if you would like to access them. Please note that our bathroom facilities are located on the first floor. Owing to the nature of the retreat, you will be accessing outside areas that have some uneven ground.
