Backbury Art Class – Event Details

Overview:

The art classes run Thursdays 2-4pm. The 10-week Autumn sessions will commence on 05 Sept until 14 Nov, excluding a break for the October half term with no club on 31 October.

During the art classes, you will receive expert tuition on a range of different art techniques within the company of like-minded creatives. There will be weekly challenges to complete within a carefully planned progression of tasks.

The theme for the Autumn session will be Expressive Florals. Within this theme we will explore techniques such as: wet-in-wet and wet-on-dry, layering and using negative space, getting the composition right, using colour effectively and using resist methods.

This art class is suitable for all ability levels as great care will be taken to tailor the art class to your specific needs, regardless of creative ability. Please note that the photography workshop attendees are limited to 8 people to ensure that everyone can receive the help and support that they require.

The class will be led by Sharon Brookes who is a practising artist and fully qualified art teacher with nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching.

During the art classes, we will explore:

• The fundamentals of drawing to develop understanding and control in order to improve your drawing skills.
• Full tuition and practical sessions in a range of drawing and painting mediums.
• Guided and progressive ability tasks including how to develop your own accomplished compositions.

• Just yourself! We include all materials and refreshments for your convenience.
