- Initially, you will learn how to divide the face to create accurate proportions.
- Next, you will learn how to draw facial features with increased detail to develop your observational drawing skills.
- Lastly, you will learn how to create tonal shading in both pencil and charcoal to create accurate facial forms.

An example itinerary for the portrait drawing course:

| Saturday | We will meet at the studio for welcome drinks at 10:30am. Following, you will be guided in how to divide a face accurately for correct proportions. Then, you will be guided in how to draw and shade facial features such as eyes, a nose and an ear. This will enable you to draw more accurately and improve your observational drawing skills. The session will conclude at 3:30pm. |
| Sunday | Day two will commence at 10:30am back at the studio. The second session will involve pulling the previous day’s learning together by creating more complete portrait drawings. By the end of the course, you will have completed a range of observational drawing studies and a completed portrait. The session will conclude at 3:30pm. |
