DESCRIPTION:Water Patterns and Reflections Course – Event Details\nOverview:\nOn this water patterns and reflections course\, you will learn to capture beautiful scenic imagery. What’s more you will learn how to capture light\, movement and pattern using layers of paint and mark making. \nExperience level:\nThis art course is suitable for beginners to improvers as there will be guided instruction throughout. Attendees will be limited to 8 to ensure that everyone will receive individual support. \nAbout the tutor:\nThe course will be led by Sharon Brookes who is the proprietor and lead tutor of Backbury House Retreats. She has a degree in Art\, is a practising artist as well as a fully qualified art teacher with nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching in a range of educational settings. \nThe Course Timings:\nThe course runs from Saturday-Sunday\, 10:30am to 3:30pm on each day and offers a comprehensive programme. \nExample of the course programme:\n\nLearn how to create layered washes to create depth\, light and shade.\nDevelop brush control to add texture and pattern.\nLearn how to capture realistic reflections on water.\nMaster how to create beautiful scenic paintings.\n\nFurther Details:\nThere are more details on the course programme including visual examples and an example itinerary available at: https://bhretreats.co.uk/water-patterns-and-reflections-course/ \nWhat’s included:\n\nExpert guidance by a fully qualified art teacher.\nPractical demonstrations and exercises on drawing and watercolour painting.\nA course pack to take home.\nAll art materials to use on the day.\nA simple lunch plus tea and coffee throughout the day.\n\nWhat you will need to bring:\nJust yourself! DESCRIPTION:Backbury Art Classes – Wednesday Group – Autumn Term – Event Details\nTerm dates and timings:\nThe 10-week Autumn Term Backbury Art Classes will begin on Wednesday 02 September until Wednesday 11 November 2026 with a half term break on Wednesday 28 October. \nThe art classes take place on Wednesdays 10am–12pm. \nOverview:\nDuring the art classes\, you will receive expert tuition on a range of different art techniques within the company of like-minded creatives. There will be weekly challenges to complete within a carefully planned progression of tasks around a set theme. Themes include landscapes\, seascapes\, florals\, portraiture\, and more. \nExperience level:\nThe art classes offer step-by-step tuition in tasks that have been carefully designed for improving knowledge and skill level. Due to the teacher-led activities\, the art classes are most suitable for beginners to improvers. However\, more experienced artists are welcome to attend and are encouraged to work as independently as desired. \nMost importantly\, attendees are limited to 8 to ensure that everyone can receive the help and support that they need. \nAbout the tutor:\nThe classes will be led by Sharon Brookes who is the proprietor and lead tutor of Backbury House Retreats. You will have opportunity to explore the colour wheel\, practise colour mixing as well as create a practice piece all designed to take your painting skills to an improved level. \nExperience level:\nThis art workshop is suitable for beginners to improvers as there will be guided instruction throughout. Attendees will be limited to 8 to ensure that everyone will receive individual support. \nAbout the tutor:\nThe workshop will be led by Sharon Brookes who is the proprietor and lead tutor of Backbury House Retreats. She has a degree in Art\, is a practising artist as well as a fully qualified art teacher with nearly 30 years’ experience of teaching in a range of educational settings. \nThe workshop timings:\nThe workshop runs from 1pm-4pm.
